mechanical weights and springs are setup for optimal performance. Most engines
with medium to serious cams do not benefit from, need, or desire a vacuum

Small Block EnginesThis distributor requires an 6AL CDI Ignition Box (NOT included)and external 12 volt coil for electronic ignition (not included). Distributor works on Big Block Chevy 396-427-454-502. If you want this distributor, WITH A CDI Ignition box, COIL & spark plug wires set, please check out my other listings. I also have this same electronic distributor with a female (points style) cap. It has the classic “Points style” look, but is completely electronic. The female cap style distributor and wires are both available in Red, Blue or Black. THIS LISTING IS FOR A BLACK CAP DISTRIBUTOR AND BLACK SPARK PLUG WIRES. **PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST RUN EXTERNAL COIL WITH THIS DISTRIBUTOR and it is NOT included. Coil needs to be 12V and have an output of 50,000 volts or more. If you do need a coil, please see my other listings that do include the coil with the distributor. Spark plug wires have 135 degree (AKA 45 degree) spark plug boots and 90 degree distributor boots that are already factory assembled. The wires are only 270 Ohms per foot and made in the USA!! The lower the ohms, the higher the performance!!
The included set of BLACK wires will work on BIG BLOCK CHEVY (up until mid 1980’s) with 396-427-454-502 engines using the Pro-Billet Distributor with the male distributor cap (that is included in this listing). These wires are already factory assembled for these engine sizes so you DO NOT cut and crimp on the distributor ends. This set DOES include a coil wire!
